The 1st Military Policing Annual Discipline Conference

The Military Policing Annual Discipline Conference 2016 (MP ADC16) took place at the NATO MP COE facilities on 29th – 30th NOVEMBER 2016. Since the NATO MP COE’s appointment to the Department Head (DH) role for the Military Policing Discipline in 2015, the Conference has become one of the key elements of the Centre’s activity.

The aim of the 1st MP ADC16, under the guidance of Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation / Joint Force Trainer (HQ SACT JFT), was to review and update the NATO Education and Training (E&T) requirements in the Military Policing Discipline and to validate or revise E&T solutions.

The following participants attended the meeting:
- ACT representative – Military Policing Department Head point of contact;
- ACO SHAPE PM – Military Policing Requirement Authority (RA);
- Representatives from other nations and E&T facilities (HQ USAREUR, NATO SP COE);
- Representatives of the NATO MP COE.

It is necessary to mention that all Conference objectives has been achieved. Deliberations focused on the review of the Training Requirements Analysis and update on the most important developments and ongoing topics related to Military Policing E&T.

All parties agreed that wider cooperation among NATO MP entities is a key to further development of the discipline. Lessons learned, lessons identified and best practices should be implemented in every aspect of MP activities.

It is also worth emphasizing that some issues to be solved were identified and several directions have been recommended to the RA for their implementation in the final project of the DAP.

Furthermore, involved parties and customers were informed that outcomes of the Conference would be officially presented in January 2017 in the DAP.
