Agreement on cooperation with Academia in Sofia

On 5 September 2017, MG Grudi Ivanov ANGELOV, the “G.S. Rakovski” National Defence College Rector-Commandant and COL Grzegorz WASIELEWSKI, the NATO Military Police Centre of Excellence (NATO MP COE) Director signed the “Technical Agreement on Mutual Co-operation”  between the institutions. COL Wasielewski also delivered a public lecture to the College students as well as used this opportunity to visit premises of the Bulgarian National Defence College in Sofia.

The organisations agreed to mutually promote exchange of knowledge, experience and expertise by providing lectures and subject matter experts for conferences, forums, workshops and trainings. Both parties will also jointly conduct and participate in each other’s courses, seminars as well as staff training and exercise or other events.Carrying out joint research in the Participants’ areas of interest is an example of other way of cooperation. Additionally, the cooperating institutions will exchange their experience in the area of Advanced Distributed Learning, and will collaborate on mutual projects. The NATO MP COE will provide support in building up a Lessons Learned hub at the Bulgarian National Defence College as well as will exchange their lessons identified or lessons learned resources and knowledge concerning procedures, courses development and other unclassified NATO standards-related documents. Both parties have also agreed to seek cooperation opportunities in such areas as counterterrorism and cyber defence.

Established mutually beneficial and long term relationship will continue based on the bilateral cooperation at the working level. Further details will be discussed during a visit of the National Defence College delegation to the NATO MP COE.
