The first Military Policing Discipline Alignment Plan (DAP)

News

On 18 April 2017, on behalf of Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, DCOS Joint Force Trainer (JFT) approved the first Military Policing Discipline Alignment Plan (DAP) .
The aim of DAP is to collect the main achievements and way ahead in the development and enhancement of the NATO Military Policing (MPG) Discipline. This Plan constitutes an outcome of the first MPG Annual Discipline Conference (ADC) that was organised by the NATO Military Police Centre of Excellence (NATO MP COE) – the MPG Department Head working under the HQ SACT JFT supervision.

on April 2017

The conference was attended by MPG Requirement Authority (RA) and representatives of NATO Force Structure, NATO Command Structure and national Subject Matter Experts from MP Education and Training institutions. All NATO MP COE residential and ADL courses were reviewed during the ADC which confirmed their continued relevance to NATO and MP. The results of this review are included in DAP.

The governing factors for developing MPG DAP are NATO’s operational requirements described in the Military Policing Strategic Training Plan and SACEUR’s Annual Guidance on Education, Training, Exercises and Evaluation, as well as the NATO Education and Training requirements identified by ACO Provost Marshal as an MPG RA.
As the NATO MP COE Director Colonel Wasielewski stated, ‘It is a significant achievement not only for the NATO MP COE but for the whole MP Community of Interest, as it is the first MP Discipline Alignment Plan ever which can have an impact on changes related to MP Education, Individual and Collective Training and Exercises, it can also bring improvements, and serve as a coordination tool of MP Education and Training.’
