SACT was welcomed by the Director of the Centre, COL Grzegorz WASIELEWSKI, who introduced key personnel to him, as well as the NATO MP SrOC students.

“Please, be advocates of the NATO MP COE in your countries” GEN MERCIER requested course attendances. During his speech, the distinguished guest also recognised the role of the Centre in enhancing MP capabilities within NATO and PfP countries.

After completion of the certificate ceremony, SACT addressed NATO MP COE members, acknowledging their remarkable effort and contribution towards sufficient support for the MP Community of Interest.

During the meeting with COL WASIELEWSKI, GEN MERCIER was briefed on the Centre’s mission and aims, as well as the increasing number of tasks and events. In the light of the approaching conference for Centers of Excellence that the ACT will host at the end of June the General highlighted the importance of those institutions’ expertise and the need to make sure that Alliance fully benefits of their potential. Therefore, the discussion focused mostly on ACT’s six focus areas: Command and Control, Human Capital, Logistics and Sustainment, Training and Exercises, Capabilities, as well as Partnership.

SACT’s visit was the last and definitely the most important one in the sequence of official meetings held at the NATO MP COE in June 2016. Earlier this month, GEN Manfred NIELSON, Deputy Supreme Allied Commander and LTG Jeff LOFGREN, Allied Command Transformation (ACT) Deputy Chief of Staff, Capability Development were guests of our Centre. “This sequence of visits demonstrates ACT’s recognition of the NATO MP COE best efforts put in enhancing MP capabilities and interoperability within NATO and PfP countries”, said COL WASIELEWSKI. The main topics during all discussions amongst the respective guests and the Director of the Centre were how ACT can use the Centre’s experience, competences and knowledge, as well as the possible Centre’s input to ACT’s six focus areas. The increasing number of official visits to the NATO MP COE premises demonstrates a growing importance of the Centre within the NATO Community of Interest, as well as its influence on the MP international environment.
