NATO MP COE introduces comprehensive approach towards MP Senior Officer Courses
On 20 - 24 June 2016, the NATO Military Police Centre of Excellence (MP COE) launches new, pilot NATO Military Police Senior Officer Course (MP SrOC). The event is not only a capstone but also a comprehensive summary of all already existing courses prepared and conducted by the Centre. The prime aim to be achieved is to support the preparation of Military Police senior officers to working in a complex international environment, focusing on the NATO MP perspective. This unique and exclusive course has several strong advantages, i.e.: engagement of experienced Subject Matter Experts representing 9 various nations, involvement of the Warsaw University and the Romanian National Academy, as well as Provost Marshal Office of Allied Command Operations.
Subjects selected for the course were chosen according to the identified needs of MP senior officers, so that they contribute to the fulfilment of professional duties, responsibilities, as well as respond to challenges in a multinational environment. Amongst various and interesting topics, there are a few of utmost importance, i.e. Cross-Cultural Awareness and Civil-Military Cooperation, Elements of Operational Planning, as well as Effective Communication with Media Training. Another significant element of the event, is the visit during the Coalition Warrior Interoperability eXploration, eXperimantation, eXamination, exercise (CWIX) - the largest annual NATO interoperability event held at the Joint Force Training Centre (JFTC) in Bydgoszcz, Poland and organised by the Allied Command Transformation (ACT). According to LTC Mirosław ŁABĘCKI, the course OPR: “All MP senior officers who accomplish this course, will have overall knowledge which is essential while performing new duties and responsibilities within an international environment”.
